REL’s Corner Transfer line module is now in use in several plants after a 7-year trial in a most demanding material handling application. This servo driven piece of equipment has the ability to change the direction of the material input stream 90 degrees. This piece of equipment has the ability to empty the 5’ X12’ deck in 2 seconds!

Using this piece of equipment, along with our High-Speed Tipple, our customer was able to split their product stream into two different elevations to increase their product throughput during a flipping operation. After the product was flipped, two more corner transfer modules took the two streams and synced them back into one evenly gapped line of product.
REL’s Tenoner Transfer is a specific iREL solution for placing panels into defined lug spacing on a piece of sawing equipment both inline and perpendicular to the product stream. The lugs varied from 30” to 54” apart depending on the product and ran at speeds reaching 120 ft/min. Running at max speed the iREL Tenoner transfer had to place 24”x24” tiles at a rate of one tile per second! To accomplish this astonishing feed rate and ensure product placement REL engineers developed a servo- driven metering fence and servo-driven placement paddles. The fence metered the flow of incoming material to sync with the lugs on the saw conveyor. The paddles then placed the panels into the space between lugs and then quickly returned to catch the next panel for placement. See product video below.
PLC Controls & Custom Control Panels
Our iREL equipment is provided with control systems that integrate into the customers control scheme. Whether the plant has a central DCS or the equipment needs to be controlled locally, REL has a control solution for the application. REL’s control engineers design a control system to fit the needs of your systems. A PLC controls and monitors each module or station within an iREL equipment system. The integrated touch HMI terminal allows for an entire system to be controlled by a single person.
REL also performs panel assembly, testing, complete system documentation and installation. UL Listing of complete panels is also available.
REL tests the system’s functionality in-house before tear down and shipment to your location. This allows for a faster setup time at the customer facility, and allows for more valuable training time for operators and maintenance personnel.
