State-of-the-Art

Our servo mechanical test system solves the limitations of test frames and conventional split-Hopkinson techniques for intermediate strain rates. It was designed specifically for researchers who need to understand the properties of high deformation materials under low to medium strain. Servo mechanical tests are often conducted on monolithic materials, composite materials and especially energy absorbing materials like polymeric foams for packaging, helmets, and protective crash gear. This system packages our base line compression or tension system with our servo mechanical elements, allowing material response data from quasi-static to strain rates up to a 50/sec.
